This book examines whether current liability systems can handle cases involving artificial intelligence (AI). It questions whether general liability rules, designed to be technology-agnostic, are adequate for AI-related accidents. While focusing on Bosnia and Herzegovina, it addresses issues relevant across Europe, offering answers based on common principles and tort law rules. The book begins with an introduction to AI technology and associated civil law challenges regarding e.g. autonomy, data importance, and non-transparency. It then discusses the broader context of civil law issues, the role of liability systems, rule-making levels and timing, and ancillary mechanisms like insurance and safety standards. The bases of liability in Bosnia and Herzegovina are examined, including objective and subjective liability, product liability, and vicarious liability. The allocation of liability is also addressed, focusing on AI's autonomy and loss of user control, and evaluating traditional liability allocation principles. Finally, the book analyzes why those harmed by AI might be worse off than those affected by conventional adverse events.

This open access book creates conceptual links between political emotions, citizenship, home and belonging. The book describes that, in the case of decided return and reintegration to a post-conflict society and a fragmented state, like Bosnia and Herzegovina, the returnees do not conceptualize the emotional dimension of their BiH citizenship as home and belonging as this citizenship does not make them feel safe and secure. Instead, "feeling at home" is found in family, place and time, while belonging is categorized as ethnic, religious, relational, landscape, linguistic, and economic. The emotional dimension of the home state citizenship is constituted through a wide spectrum of emotions, ranging from anger, frustration, fear, guilt, shame, disappointment, nostalgia, powerlessness, to patriotic love, pride, defiance, joy, happiness and hope. This book provides a valuable resource to students and scholars of migration and diaspora studies, as well as political scientists, human geographers and anthropologists.

This book examines the making and breaking of peripheral selves in and from postsocialist Bosnia in an empirically rich self-reflexive account of politico-economic and ideological developments. Through world systems and postcolonial theory, historical and new materialist optics, discursive and affective analytical registers, and various qualitative methodological choices, the author analyzes peripheral subjectivity in connection to global proletarianization, as well as past and present resistance via social and personal movement(s).

This book is centred upon the concept of ‘ethnonationality,’ investigating how its meanings and functions have changed across political regimes, time, and generations. The aim of this book is to advance scholarly knowledge about FDI in Southeastern Europe 25 years after the dissolution of Yugoslavia.Each chapter includes a summary of scholarly contributions published on the topic in English-language and local language journals, a discussion of origins, composition by industry, and location choice within the country from 1995-2018, using Dunning's (1980) eclectic paradigm as a discussion framework. The chapters conclude with prospects for FDI over the next twenty-five years with emphasis on economic growth projections, EU integration, and other relevant country-specific considerations the local authors deem relevant.

This book is an introduction to the basics of Bosnian political structure, institutions, and political processes. Twenty-five years after the Dayton Peace Agreement ended the Bosnian war, the political process still maintains various levels and divisions among political entities.
