- Better regulation practices across the European Union 2022: Cyprus
OECD Publishing, Paris, 2022.
Cyprus’ regulatory policy system has remained stable over the last years with only a few changes mainly related to consultation practices. While public consultations on draft primary laws continues to be mandatory, policy makers now also engage with specific groups such as trade unions, employers' organisations, Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, NGOs and the business sector on regulatory proposals. Consultations are still not mandatory for subordinate regulations.
Further, early stage consultations before a decision to regulate is made are still not yet conducted when developing primary laws nor subordinate regulations, even though it is recommended in the 2015 Action Plan for improving the regulatory framework in Cyprus.
- Country health profiles: State of health in the EU
OECD, European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies. OECD Publishing, 2023-
The State of Health in the EU country profiles provide a concise and policy-relevant overview of health and health systems in all EU countries, Iceland and Norway, emphasising the particular characteristics and challenges in each country. They are designed to create a means of mutual learning and voluntary exchanges that support the efforts of countries in their evidence-based policy making. Each country profile provides a short synthesis of: the health status in the country; the determinants of health, focussing on behavioural risk factors; the organisation of the health system; and the effectiveness, accessibility and resilience of the health system. The profiles are the joint work of the OECD and the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies, in co-operation with the European Commission.
- Development co-operation profiles: Cyprus
OECD Publishing, Paris, 2022.
For Cyprus, development co-operation is closely aligned with the goals and priorities of the European Union (EU), with a central focus on poverty eradication and sustainable development. Over the past five years, Cyprus has provided most of its official development assistance (ODA) through multilateral channels, but bilateral projects are also being implemented. Policy and priority setting and project implementation are the responsibility of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. For its key partners, Cyprus’ co-operation aims at sharing know-how and expertise and providing in-kind, demand-driven humanitarian assistance (e.g. medical supplies).
- EU country cancer profile: Cyprus 2023
OECD Publishing, Paris, 2023.
This profile identifies strengths, challenges and specific areas of action on cancer prevention and care in Cyprus as part of the European Cancer Inequalities Registry, a flagship initiative of Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan. It provides a short synthesis of: the national cancer burden; risk factors for cancer (focusing on behavioural and environmental risk factors); early detection programmes; and cancer care performance (focusing on accessibility, care quality, costs and the impact of COVID-19 on cancer care).
- Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes: Cyprus 2020 (Second Round)
