EU websites
- Open science | European Commission, Directorate-General for Research and Innovation
Open Science is at the centre of European research policy. Policies, initiatives and structures are developed and implemented to open up European science and research to make them more efficient and productive, seamless, transparent and robust as well as responsive to policy and society needs and expectations.

- Data stories: The 10th anniversary of the open data maturity report | data.europa.eu – the official portal for European data
The open data maturity (ODM) assessment aims to evaluate the progress of open data initiatives across Europe. In its first three years (2015–2017), ODM was measured based on two key dimensions: open data readiness and portal maturity. From 2018 onwards, the assessment evolved to incorporate four dimensions: policy, portal, quality and impact. Marking the 10th anniversary of the ODM report and the release of the 2024 edition in December, this data story delves into historical trends, offering a comparative analysis of countries and highlighting those that have achieved the most notable growth across the four dimensions since 2018, along with some of the measures they took to achieve this.

- Open science | European Research Council
The mission of the ERC is to support excellent research in all fields of science and scholarship. The main outputs of this research are new knowledge, ideas and understanding, which the ERC expects its grantees to publish in peer-reviewed articles and monographs. The ERC considers that providing free online access to these materials is the most effective way of ensuring that the fruits of the research it funds can be accessed, read, and used as the basis for further research.
