- Klimat : Russia in the age of climate change by Thane Gustafson (Georgetown Univ., US)Harvard University Press, 2021, 320 pages.
Thane Gustafson predicts that, over the next thirty years, climate change will leave a dramatic imprint on Russia. The decline of fossil fuel use is already underway, and restrictions on hydrocarbons will only tighten, cutting fuel prices and slashing Russia's export revenues. Yet Russia has no substitutes for oil and gas revenues. The country is unprepared for the worldwide transition to renewable energy, as Russian leaders continue to invest the national wealth in oil and gas while dismissing the promise of post-carbon technologies.

- Energy Transitions and Future of Gas in the EU: Subsidise or decarbonise by Gökҫe Mete (International Energy Charter)Palgrave Macmillan, 2020, xxiii, 301 pages.
This book assesses the impact of energy transitions on the future of natural gas in the EU energy mix. As we approach 2050, the requirement to sharply decrease CO₂ and other GHG emissions means that the role of gas infrastructure in the EU and beyond will change drastically. But what does such change mean? To address this question the author critically analyses the EU's evolving natural gas market policy and law.
eBook
- Global energy supply and emissions : an interdisciplinary view on effects, restrictions, requirements and options by Carl Friedrich Gethmann (Univ. Siegen, DE) and others.Springer, 2020, XXVI, 322 pages.
This book offers an authoritative analysis of the state-of-the art in energy and climate research and policy. - The Transformation of the European Union : the impact of climate change in European policies by (Editor) Xira Ruiz-Campillo (Complutense Univ. Madrid, ES)World Scientific Publishing Company, 2020, 252 pages.
The EU has undergone a deep transformation in the last 25 years. The goals adopted by the EU at the international level in climate negotiations have led to the internal adoption of goals by the EU member States. The book examines the changes experienced by the European Union that have gone on in parallel to its leadership in climate negotiations since 1992 and analyses whether combating climate change has contributed to the transformation of European policies.

- European Energy Studies Volume XIV: the European Energy Transition : An Agenda for the Twenties(editor) Susanne Nies (European Network of Transmission System Operators). 2nd edition, Edward Elgar Publishing, 2020-12-31.
The book reflects on the latest policy developments, as such as the Clean Energy for All Europeans Package, the Green Deal and the Climate Law. The energy transition is Europe's flagship projects. It needs to provide sound answers to the climate and sustainability-, security of supply- and competitiveness imperatives. The energy transition corresponds to a large scale economic and cultural change. It encompasses sector coupling- linking up sectors that have ignored each other previously, like mobility and power.
eBook
- Learning in Governance : climate policy integration in the European Union by Katharina Rietig (LSE, UK)The MIT Press, 2021, x, 218 pages.
This book examines the role of learning - understood as additional knowledge or experience that is taken into account by policymakers - in earth system governance and policy change. The author does this by examining learning in European Union climate policy integration, looking in detail at the examples of the Renewable Energy Directive, its controversial biofuels component, and the greening measures in the Common Agricultural Policy.

- Renewable energy consumption in economic sectors in the EU-27. The impact on economics, environment and conventional energy sources. A 20-year perspectiveBy Magdalena Tutak, Jarosław Brodny (Silesian University of Technology, PL). In: Journal of Cleaner Production, Volume 345, 15 April 2022, 131076.
The renewable energy consumption of the economic sector for the EU-27, EU-14 and EU-13 were investigated. Renewable energy consumption was found to have increased by 200% between 2000 and 2019. The results indicate that RE consumption growth is greater in the “old” EU countries. The most increase in renewable energy consumption occurred in the transport sector. The RE consumption has a positive impact on economic growth, reductions of GHG emissions and conventional energy consumption.
