A selection of EU resources on Jean Monnet Conference1
Since 1977, Jean Monnet Conferences have been organised with the support of the European institutions. The Erasmus+ annual report 2017 reported on a Jean Monnet Conference. Since then, Jean Monnet Conferences have no longer been mentioned in the Erasmus Annual Reports.

See pages 81-82: The Jean Monnet Biennial Conference (BiCo) took place on 27–28 November 2017, back to back with a kick-off meeting for new beneficiaries of Jean Monnet Activities (co-organised with the Education, Culture and Audiovisual Executive Agency). This year's conference objective was to allow debate on important EU-policy issues but also to disseminate information on more technical issues for the new grant holders. 5 workshops were organised on the second day corresponding to the 5 objectives of the State of the Union. The 2017 edition of the Jean Monnet conference gathered nearly 40 renowned speakers and moderators and 350 participants.

Every year, the Commission’s Directorate General for Education and Culture organises a high level Jean Monnet Conference on a key topic that is politically important for the European Union. This year’s conference theme, 'Global governance in times of global challenges' is directly relevant to the recently-adopted European Union global strategy on foreign and security policy. With the title 'Shared vision, common action: a stronger Europe', the strategy offers a strategic vision for the EU’s global role.

José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, and Ján Figel', Member of the EC in charge of Education, Training, Culture and Youth, officially opened the Jean Monnet Conference "20 years of support to European Integration Studies: From the Jean Monnet Action to the Jean Monnet Programme". The 2009 Jean Monnet Conference was held in Brussels on 7-8 September, and marked indeed 20 years of European Commission support to EU studies, which contributed substantially to the European integration process, and to knowledge about the EU worldwide.
